"Having transferred to Point Park, I can say from experience few colleges have programs that ensure students are prepared for their field quite like Point Park. Professors go the extra mile to connect students with companies and try to set every student up for a successful career after college."
Why did you choose Point Park University?
I chose Point Park for its great multimedia program and its connections to local ad agencies and production companies.
What do you like about Point Park's multimedia program?
It’s great that I have been taught multiple aspects of digital media. I’ve gained experience in everything from video production and photography to graphic design and branding strategy. Though I specialize in video production, the knowledge of all of those fields makes me a more valuable candidate and allows me to better work with large teams.
Describe the audio and video work you do off campus, and how Point Park prepared you for these roles.
I have mixed live concerts and events since my freshman year at Steed Audio and have produced and edited videos for Covalent, American Heart Association and Café Racer. Point Park professors are well connected in the industry and have given me networking opportunities that I couldn't have imagined. So many courses encourage working with real companies for projects recognizing that there is no better way to learn than through experience.

What are your favorite things to do around campus or Pittsburgh when you're not in class?
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is my favorite place to visit in the city to take photos any time of year. I’m not really a city person, so I’ve always appreciated that a short drive from campus can put you in nature. I love mountain biking and luckily Pittsburgh has the GAP trail, Frick Park and North Park close to campus.
Why would you recommend Point Park to a prospective student?
I would recommend Point Park for the opportunities it gives to students. If you are willing to work hard and take on projects and internships, I can't think of a better, more well-connected school for media in Pennsylvania.
