"Meghan is self-motivated, enthusiastic and has shown an amazing level of professionalism. I am thoroughly impressed by her positive attitude, and her willingness to roll up her sleeves and put her skills and expertise to work. These qualities have quickly made her an integral part of our team."
"The urban campus is second to none. I can’t stress enough how great Point Park’s location is to companies around Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate student, I had the ability to go to my internships in the morning and then walk to class in the afternoon. I chose to do the M.A./MBA at Point Park because I was fortunate enough to land a graduate assistantship in the School of Communication that allowed me to pursue both degrees."
What factors made you choose both our B.A. in broadcast reporting and M.A./MBA programs?
The urban campus is second to none. I can’t stress enough how great Point Park’s location is to companies around Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate student, I had the ability to go to my internships in the morning and then walk to class in the afternoon. I chose to do the M.A./MBA program at Point Park because I was fortunate enough to land a graduate assistantship in the School of Communication that allowed me to pursue both degrees.
How have the M.A./MBA classes prepared you for your internship at Mylan?
The Global Environment of Business and Integrated Marketing classes have been very beneficial since Mylan is a global company. I’m interacting with their leadership in several different countries and these classes gave me the necessary skills to understand differences in countries' economics, business customs and communication.
What are your key responsibilities as a Global Talent Development intern?
Talent Development aims to improve individual and group performance by increasing and honing skills and knowledge. My responsibilities include updating weekly analytics on training software, creating training videos, hosting intern get togethers outside of the program, attending meetings and uploading users to the training software.
What advice do you have for prospective Point Park students?
My best advice is everything happens for a reason. I had an opportunity before Mylan, but it fell through and I’m so happy it did. Mylan has been incredible for my career and has taught me more than I could’ve expected.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Point Park is a great investment for your future. Always do your research, whether that’s for a job, internship or even a college. Look into internships students did before you, follow that company on social media to see where they’re headed. Soak in all of the knowledge you can!
