To be honest, I didn't know much about the school until I auditioned for the department in New York City. The recruitment staff was really nice when I came to visit and it seemed like the program was interested in me individually. I felt like I would get the kind of focused training that I was seeking.

Who is your favorite professor and why?

This is such a hard question! I think I am going to have to go with Phil Winters. He is my advisor and I have had the privilege of taking voice and speech and acting with him.

He really cares about seeing improvement in his students and if you express your eagerness to learn, he will take you on quite the journey. He has endless amounts of experience and is ready to share it with anyone who steps into his classroom. Phil Winters has become quite the role model in my life here at Point Park.

Where is the best view of the city?

Mt. Washington has a gorgeous view of the city. If you ever get the chance to go to PNC Park, you will get an amazing view of the city there as well.

What activities are you involved with here at Point Park (both on campus and off)?

I spent sophomore year as a residence life staff member and will be continuing as an RE (resident educator) this fall. I have enjoyed that position so much. I also have been cast twice at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, which has been a blessing. As far as off campus goes, I'm always up for an outdoor adventure!

What changes have you noticed in yourself since moving to Pittsburgh?

Since moving to Pittsburgh, I have grown so much stronger as an individual. I have become more independent and more open-minded. This city is so diverse and the culture that surrounds campus is really captivating. The culture alone has opened my eyes to so many wondrous things.

When someone says the word "Pittsburgh," what comes to mind?

A few things come to mind when I hear the word "Pittsburgh." The first thing that comes to mind is the Steelers. The second thing that comes to mind is the Point State Park. The third is all of the bridges that connect the different neighborhoods. All in all, they all make up a beautiful city to go to school in.
