"We provide resources to help students increase knowledge and preparation to be career-ready, and at the same time, we are a social space for students and alumni to build a professional network."

Dean Jolin, director of Professional Career-Readiness Center

Point Park University begins a new school year by opening the doors to a spacious new home for its Professional Career-Readiness Center. The 8,016 square foot space at 330 Boulevard of the Allies provides Point Park University students and alumni with one-stop shopping access to the services that will enhance their professional brand, career and workforce readiness.

“The new home for the Professional Career-Readiness Center is a welcome enhancement to our campus and reflects the importance we place on career readiness at Point Park,” said Keith Paylo, dean of Student Affairs. “It’s been a goal of ours to put professional and career support staff and services in one location on campus. We’re thrilled to finally be able to welcome the Point Park community to this beautiful new facility.”

Located one floor below street level, the Professional Career-Readiness Center (PCRC) is a bright, light-filled space with large windows facing Boulevard of the Allies that students can access via elevators and steps. The PCRC features an open and flexible design, including PCRC staff offices, a training room, atrium, multi-purpose space and interview suites that allow staff to extend and enhance services and be more visible and accessible.

“We provide resources to help students increase knowledge and preparation to be career-ready, and at the same time, we are a social space for students and alumni to build a professional network,” said Dean Jolin, the director of the PCRC.

Jolin emphasizes that PCRC services extend to all students, both on-site and online, that continues for a lifetime beyond graduation. We want online students and alumni who may be unable to come to the campus to know that they have full access to the services we provide to all students,” he said.

The PCRC collaborates with internal and external partners to provide career-readiness services to students and alumni, including club/organization recruitment, career-readiness workshops, smaller-scale career expos specific to students’ schools and majors, employer visits, networking events and employer interviews/hiring days. It is a unique and versatile space on campus where students can focus on their schoolwork and projects, network with other students, and have full access to the guidance and resources related to individual career goals.
