"Pittsburgh is a city I have loved since I was very young. I came to Pittsburgh nearly every weekend to sightsee and explore when I was in high school, and when it was time to apply for college, moving to the city I visited so frequently seemed like a dream to me. After studying Point Park’s cinema department and exploring what I could learn, I knew it was the school for me."
How did you land an internship with Pittsburgh Film Office?
I landed this internship by building a strong resume volunteering at photobooths, making films and entering them into film festivals, and having an organized resume and cover letter that showcased my skills.

At the Pittsburgh Film Office, my job as a PFO-TV assistant producer is to plan, create and edit various videos for their YouTube channel.
What factors made you choose Point Park University’s cinema arts program?
Pittsburgh is a city I have loved since I was very young. I came to Pittsburgh nearly every weekend to sightsee and explore when I was in high school, and when it was time to apply for college, moving to the city I visited so frequently seemed like a dream to me. After studying Point Park’s cinema department and exploring what I could learn, I knew it was the school for me.
How have Point Park’s classes and faculty helped you excel in this internship?
Point Park University has allowed me to learn a lot about the film industry in my producing classes, and that is something that I use very frequently in my internship. The Film Office has frequent meetings and looking at video analytics is very important, so understanding producing is a necessity.
What are your career goals?
My goal in the industry is to work for a film company as a producer, primarily focusing in the pre-production stage of filmmaking, as well as budgeting and distribution.
