Point Park University will officially open the Center for Media Innovation with a daylong series of events Sept. 13.

Highlights of the day include a morning panel with local television, radio and newspaper professionals, an afternoon panel with local new media professionals, and an evening with Sarah Koenig, host and co-creator of the Serial podcast.

Located at Wood Street and Third Avenue, the 4,000-square-foot center has floor-to-ceiling glass walls, flat-screen televisions and a digital ticker that offers a New York City-style media hub where passersby can be entertained and informed as students learn their craft.
