How did you land your position with BOM Advisers?
I worked with Jason Varnish, owner of BOM Advisers, many times through the years and then he was my instructor for the Ticketing 101 class in the SAEM program. After I graduated from Point Park University, I stayed in touch with Jason and interacted with him at various events that we were both working at in different capacities.
One weekend he brought me on to do production running for a series of comedy events and we began discussing opportunities within his new company and how his roster was expanding. Jason was interested in providing opportunities to Point Park graduates and people he had worked with previously that he knew he could rely on professionally.
Tell us about the variety of work you do and how your SAEM classes have helped you.
This past summer and into the fall, I was on tour with one of our clients, Nitro Circus. I handled all of Nitro's ticketing on site for their North America tour. When I am home in Pittsburgh between Nitro dates, I either work in multiple box offices around the city that BOM is attached to or as a production runner at Stage AE.
All of the SAEM classes were important in helping me in my career field. The professors and the classes gave me the knowledge and the tools to carve my own path through this industry.
Why did you choose Point Park?
I originally came across Point Park when I was looking into the film business. After having one class with Ed Traversari, I realized that I needed to be working in live entertainment.
Share with us your favorite Point Park memory.
There are so many memories from Point Park, but if I had to pick one it would have to be the night that I won Outstanding Graduating Senior for the School of Business.
What are your career goals?
I would like to keep growing to become the best industry professional that I can be, learning as much as I can about my job at BOM Advisers in order to best serve the needs of the company and our clients.
