Why did you decide to pursue an M.B.A. degree?

I chose to pursue an M.B.A. degree to better educate myself and be more marketable in the job market. I wanted to have a better understanding of not just finance but how business is conducted around the world.

What made you choose Point Park?

My older brother went to Point Park and encouraged me to apply. I also have friends in New York who went to Point Park and talked about the University's intimate atmosphere and how the professors have real-world work experience in the fields they teach.

What was one of your favorite grad school experiences?

Planning for the international ball at Point Park was my favorite experience. Students from all over the world came to the ball. This is what makes the M.B.A. program great. Even though many of my classmates are living in different parts of the world, we still communicate and have formed life-long friendships.

How have your M.B.A. classes helped you with the work you do?

I communicate and deal with people from all different backgrounds on a daily basis. Getting an M.B.A. degree was a big step for me. My M.B.A. classes have given me the confidence and ability to move up in the workforce. Also, I've learned how to be a better employee and team player. This is a very good program, especially for people who want to go back to school while working.

What are your career goals?

In the short term, my goal is to grow as a financial advisor, helping people to manage their money, prepare for their retirement and build college savings accounts for their kids. In the long term, I'd like to build my own business and travel the world experiencing different cultures. Eventually, it would be nice to move back to my home country of St. Lucia. My dream has always been to help people achieve their financial goals. That dream wouldn't be possible without the education I have received.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I'd just like to add that the M.B.A. program is very diverse. It is taught by true international business professors like Dr. Kraniou from Greece, Dr. Sidky from Afghanistan and Dr. Maharaja from India. Many of the professors at Point Park University have lived in other countries and have seen how business operates around the world. I am thankful to the professors who were all so helpful during my time at Point Park. I have many fond memories from my time there and am happy that I chose Point Park for my M.B.A. degree.
