What factors made you choose Point Park for both your bachelor's and master's degrees?
There were many factors that went into my decision to attend Point Park. Primarily, I knew I wanted a focused education where I could have close contact with my classmates and professors. Personally, I wasn't interested in learning in a large auditorium with hundreds of other students. Secondly, I knew a lot of other students who graduated high school ahead of me and spoke very highly of the education and atmosphere at Point Park. There is no better referral than from people you know and trust and I took their advice seriously.
Finally, there is an extremely diverse student population at Point Park including students in many different majors and from many different regions of the world. I thought this would help me understand people in a way that would help prepare me for life after school. I truly believe that through the friends and people I interacted with at Point Park, I had a leg up on other students entering the work force without such experiences.
How have your degrees helped you with your work as a cardiovascular representative?
My degrees at Point Park were focused on business management and international business. In the medical device industry, there are many ways in which technology being produced through research and development impacts patients' lives throughout the world. I am fortunate enough to work in an industry where our products are used to better people's lives every day. In particular, the courses I took in sales and macroeconomics at Point Park helped me to truly understand how innovation in medical technology can impact the world's population.
What were some of your favorite experiences at Point Park?
I enjoyed playing for the men's basketball team. Also, the boat ride that kicked off each academic year was a lot of fun.
What are your career goals?
Fortunately, I am in an exciting industry that experiences innovation and changes at a very rapid pace. I want to continue my career in the medical device field and eventually progress into leadership roles leading teams of people focused on improving patient care through medical device technology.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
If given the choice all over again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Point Park. My opinion about the University, its faculty, student population and overall experience remains extremely high! There is a lot of positive momentum right now for Point Park and it is an exciting place to be moving forward.
