How did your MBA help you advance in your career to president and CEO of Vincentian Collaborative System?

The Point Park University MBA program taught me discipline and time management skills. I attended the program while my wife Marie and I were expecting our first child. I valued the fact that classes were taught by professors who held positions in the corporate world, and therefore, class projects often touched on the importance of collaboration, group dynamics and leadership.

What factors made you choose Point Park for graduate school?

Point Park was a logical choice for me because of the University’s excellent reputation, the flexibility of the Saturday program and also because the campus is located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, making it accessible to all the major corporate entities.

In what ways did our MBA faculty impact you?

To this day, I tell stories of faculty who gave me valuable advice that translated into my business dealings. One professor that comes to mind is Dr. William Breslove, who taught Organizational Behavior. I reference lessons from Dr. Breslove and his class on nearly a daily basis. The professors in general were very accessible and understanding while challenging students to think differently about situations.

What are your favorite Point Park memories?

The people make the University special. The best part of my experience was forming friendships that, nearly 20 years later, still exist today. I also enjoyed being in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh and having the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and vibrancy of our city.

What career advice do you have for our MBA students?

The MBA experience, regardless of which institution you attend, is what you make of it. Work hard and immerse yourself in the experience. This is an exciting time to be involved in healthcare, particularly in Western Pennsylvania. Our area is the epicenter of healthcare innovation. There are endless possibilities and opportunities for forward-thinkers and go-getters. Don’t waste your chance to become a part of something bigger than yourself and truly make a difference in our region!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

The growth and expansion of Point Park is tremendous — it was Point Park College when I attended! I am proud to be an alumnus and meet other alums of Point Park on a regular basis.
