Forensic science students Jordan Cook-Henry, Gillian Stinson and Mindy Vivio are making the summer before their senior year a memorable — and productive one — by working as public safety aides for the Ocean City Police Department.

The students discovered this summer opportunity when they attended the WestPACS Internship and Job Fair during the fall semester. Point Park's Career Development Center encourages and prepares students and alumni to attend this local event held twice a year.

In the profiles linked below, Cook-Henry, Stinson and Vivio discuss why they chose Point Park's forensic science program, how their classes are helping them this summer, their career goals and more.

"
My career goals include one day either working as a criminal investigator or a forensic pathologist both of which my degree in forensic science can help me reach. The courses offered at Point Park, along with guidance of my advisor, Dr. Edward Strimlan, has helped me set a path for various career choices."

"What made Point Park stand out to me was the location in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh. The forensic science program offers hands-on experience in the crime scene house. Also, the knowledge and experiences of Dr. Edward Strimlan were too great to pass up."

"The summer before my senior year of high school I attended the CSI Summer Camp that Point Park offers and realized that I really loved the things that I learned there and the hands-on experience I had gained just from the few days at the camp. From that point on, I knew I had to be accepted to Point Park and major in forensic science."
