Background

Born in Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, and raised in Los Angeles, California, Norbert De La Cruz III is a collaborative artist with roots in classical and contemporary dance. His interests are vast: from the limits of representation, post-migratory identity, the depths of our contemporariness, imperfection, queerness and desire, loneliness, ceaseless liminality, and an endless desire to make everlasting art, De La Cruz III strives to make the invisible visible. He wants to be a representative of the dance world for his communities and to represent his communities in dance, casting his work as an extension of them.
