Snowflake Charity Ball raises money to help kids
Students enjoy formal evening cruising Pittsburgh rivers, all for a worthy cause
Point Park students got a chance to have a formal evening out, enjoy a holiday river cruise -- and raise money to help children who have brain tumors.
This year's Snowflake Charity Ball, held Dec. 3 aboard a Gateway Clipper riverboat, raised more than $1,300 for Team Brother Bear, an organization founded by Point Park student Addison Brasil.
The non-profit group strives to make a positive difference in the lives of children who have been diagnosed with the illness.
For Point Park students and their dates, the evening included dinner, dancing to the DJ's lively sets, and a silent auction of items including gift cards to Downtown establishments.
The Snowflake Charity Ball was sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, which puts on many events throughout the academic year.
