Why did you choose Point Park University?

I chose Point Park because of the opportunities for networking here. I knew Point Park had a great reputation for connecting students to industry professionals, and I wanted to get a head start in meeting people who can help me in my career.

As a graduating senior, how has Point Park prepared you for your future career?

Looking back at my four years at Point Park, I can definitely say I've had a real-world experience before entering the workforce. Through classes, club involvement and internship experiences, I've been able to get a taste of what my future career will look like. I feel comfortable and confident to start working after graduation.

How are you involved on campus?

I've been a member of Point Park's hip-hop dance crew, Impulse, since my freshman year, and I'm also the group's media manager. I am the president of the AdFed chapter at Point Park and have been an AdFed / PRSSA member for two years. I've also done some design work for the Campus Activities Board!

Tell us about your internship experiences.

I've had three internships throughout my college career. The summer before my junior year, I started a six-month internship as a graphic designer for the education department at United Steelworkers (USW). It was a great experience and I got a look into what a career with USW would look like.

Last summer, I completed a photography internship with local non-profit Venture Outdoors, as well as a graphic design internship with the advertising agency Apple Box Studios. I am proud to share that I recently accepted my first job with Apple Box Studios as a graphic designer as a result of this internship!

As a foodie, where is your favorite place to eat in Pittsburgh's growing food scene?

I absolutely love dessert! Market Square will be opening a Millie's ice cream shop soon, and I'm excited to check it out and compare it to the Milkshake Factory and Ben & Jerry's!

What advice would you give to incoming students?

I would suggest that incoming students get involved with different clubs and activities on campus. This will give you the opportunity to meet new people and create connections that will help your network grow. In addition, internships are so important! This is where you gain the experience of a real career without the 40-hour work week.
