Point Park University theatre production majors won the first place award at USITT's inaugural T3: Technical Theatre Tournament presented by Disney Live Entertainment. USITT was held March 5-8 in Columbus, Ohio.

Point Park's team, known as Point Point, was one of six teams to qualify for the final competition. This competition tested their skills in audio, lighting, costumes, stage-management, AV, rigging and props through a series of timed challenges. In the final round, the teams were tasked with loading in, performing and striking a new musical.

Point Point also won an honorable mention for Best Cable Management and Best Teamwork.

"We are incredibly proud of our students for their awesome win," said Cat Wilson, assistant professor of theatre production. "Most of all, it was the crowning moment of the conference to hear they won the award for Best Teamwork! We love seeing their hard work, well-rounded technical knowledge and supportive attitudes acknowledged on a national stage. Go Point Point!"

Congratulations to Hayden Bingham, Sam Crowe, Isabel Caldwell Aranza, Alex Hamm, Evan Smedley and Owen Zacharias on their outstanding achievements at USITT 2025.
