It was surreal to step into the role of guest artist, knowing that not too long ago, I was in their shoes — working tirelessly with hopes of becoming a professional dancer.
I looked up to every guest artist who came for master classes and auditions, and now being in that position felt like a full-circle moment.
The current students are so driven. Their passion and talent inspired me.
What factors led you to pursue Point Park’s dance program?
I loved that the dance program provided training in various styles. I was also excited to learn from the world-renowned faculty.
The program’s dedication to bringing in outside choreographers offered invaluable opportunities to learn from and connect with industry professionals.
Plus, the success of Point Park’s alumni stood out to me. It truly had everything I was looking for.

I treasure my memories from rehearsals. Experiencing so many different rehearsal processes with guest choreographers, faculty and students was incredibly valuable. We were challenged professionally yet always had fun exploring various styles of movement and diverse choreography.

What was it like returning to campus?
It was nostalgic to be back in a space that was so fundamental to my growth. It’s been two years since I’ve been on campus and getting to assist class was such an honor.
I always looked up to the professional dancers and I hope I inspired students who choose a similar path to us after graduating.
What are some of your favorite college memories?
A lot of my favorite memories came from being in rehearsals. The schedule is demanding and having to dance all day is draining, but nothing makes those hard times better than having good friends with you.
I loved the rehearsal process for my final performance at Point Park, “Sweet Fields” by Twyla Tharp. The cast had many of my best friends and getting to share that time before graduation with them was so special.
What do you enjoy most in your current role?
I Iove being a part of such a caring community where we have the freedom to create art together and where I can learn from the veterans in the company.
It’s also been amazing to share dance with local and distant communities during our home season shows or whenever we go on tour.
