"Being selected to learn about the innovations at Google, their wonderful diversity initiatives and their culture of learning has given me such a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to sharing it with my fellow students and the Student Veterans Association at Point Park."
Point Park University information technology alumnus and MBA student Jaime Ballesteros '18 was one of only 28 MBA student veterans across the nation selected to attend the 2018 Google Student Veteran Summit in Los Angeles.
The summit focused on the wide range of business opportunities at Google, as well as the company’s MBA internship program and its unique culture of learning.
Attendees also had the opportunity to network with Google employees.
"Being selected to learn about the innovations at Google, their wonderful diversity and initiatives and their culture of learning has given me such a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to sharing it with my fellow students and the Student Veterans Association at Point Park," Ballesteros explained.
"Learning about their project Loon, Google My Business and Google For Veterans was extremely interesting. Also, their philosophies like 'You don’t need a suit to be serious' and 'Great isn’t good enough' were inspiring," he said.
Ballesteros added: "I really enjoyed learning about Google’s commitment to hiring veterans, the high caliber of people they look for and the amazing opportunities that exist within the company. I also enjoyed meeting other MBA students from all over the country."
