As an international student, why did you choose Point Park University?

There are many reasons why I chose Point Park University. My main reasons were the small class sizes and the urban campus location. When I first came to Point Park for orientation, I walked around the campus and felt so comfortable. The community was friendly and diverse. Also, Point Park offered me a very good scholarship, which has helped make my education affordable.

How did you land your accounting internship with Maher Duessel?

Professor Edward Scott helped me land this internship. He assisted me with my resume and recommended me to the company. I feel very lucky and I am very thankful for his help.

Describe the teaching style of Point Park's accounting professors.

All of the accounting professors at Point Park are very knowledgeable and dedicated to the students. Being that English is my third language, it was not that easy to understand all of the accounting concepts, but my professors were always there to help. I learned a lot from them. They want to see students succeed, and they are very proud of us when we do so.

What has been one of your favorite experiences at Point Park?

I am very glad that I got involved in the Student Accounting Association. I met many friends and learned a lot about the field. Since I am a foreign student, I did not know much about the opportunities for accounting students. I always try not to miss any of the meetings because every time I attend a meeting I learn something new. Last semester we went on a field trip to the C.P.A. firm Schneider Downs. It was a great experience.

What are your career goals?

I would like to get my C.P.A. license. After earning my bachelor's degree, I will be qualified to sit for the exam and will then be able to get my license after obtaining an M.B.A. After graduation in December, I would like to start my career in accounting at one of the public accounting firms. I really hope that everything will go the way I planned. I am thankful to Bridget Mancosh for believing in me and encouraging me to do this.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I would like to thank my professors, classmates and the International Student Services Office for helping and supporting me these last two years. As an international student, Point Park is a university that has made me feel at home.
