Why did you decide to pursue an M.B.A.?
When I first arrived to the United States, I was working in contract positions for various health care organizations. I felt that pursing an American degree would help me to obtain a full-time, permanent position. In addition, I believed that an M.B.A. degree focused in health systems management would be important to have with the new health care laws coming.
What made you choose Point Park?
Point Park was affordable, conveniently located in Downtown Pittsburgh, and its M.B.A. program offered a concentration in health systems management. Also, I found this college to be very diverse. These factors all worked together to help me make my decision.
Why does the health care field appeal to you?
There are a lot of job opportunities in this field. Health care will always be needed and has great importance in Pittsburgh. In the future, I hope to move into a career related to hospital management.
What were your favorite experiences as a graduate student?
My greatest experience has been learning from other students and talking to them about my home country of Bhutan. Before they met me, many of them had never heard of Bhutan. I was excited to be able to tell them all about where I come from. At Point Park, I made many friends not just from Pittsburgh but from countries all over the world. Another great experience was participating in Point Park's Graduate Hooding Ceremony. I had not experienced that type of ceremony before and really enjoyed it.
