"Mara was selected due to her prompt, professional and timely responses over email and text messages when initially inquiring about the position, as well as her punctuality and attention to detail. She also shares a genuine and infectious enthusiasm for the arts and entertainment industry that shines through whenever interacting with her, in addition to a willingness to take on more work and responsibility. We're very glad that we chose her! The SAEM program at Point Park University has done a wonderful job preparing Mara for this role! I appreciate that they're willing to expose students to real-world situations. It's helpful working with someone who can jump right in with both feet!"

Tell us about your internship with Misra Records.
Misra Records has taught me a lot about the music industry and provided me with a multitude of experiences. I had the opportunity to be assistant project manager on Jonny Goood’s upcoming album. I have collected his full tour history and created his website jonnygooodmusic.com.
Also, I have worked with multiple bands such as The Hawkeyes on their social media channels, as well as served as a concert photographer for them. Currently, I am doing social media scheduling for Misra’s accounts and preparing for upcoming releases for a variety of Misra’s artists.
Why did you decide to transfer to Point Park University?
I originally went to Slippery Rock University to pursue a degree in art. I was striving to be a concert photographer. I heard about Point Park’s sports, arts and entertainment management degree and knew that was a great way to get into the music industry while learning from industry professionals.
What is your favorite SAEM class and why?
My favorite SAEM class is Pioneer Records. Learning from Professor Kendra Ross has been an honor. She has so much experience in the industry and I enjoy diving into the details of a record label.
Tell us about one of your favorite things to do in Pittsburgh.
One of my favorite things to do in Pittsburgh is go to the Rivers Casino and get some good food after.
What are your career goals and how is Point Park helping you reach them?
My goal is to work in the music industry and be a part of developing an artist. I would love to further my career with a record label, as well as have the ability to put my love of concert photography to use.
Point Park has allowed me the opportunity to learn every aspect of the industry so I can find where I truly fit and having the opportunity to intern at Misra for two semesters solidified my career goal to continue to work at a label.
