"I'm going to earn this degree even if it kills me. Happy Halloween to my classmates and friends at Point Park University!"
Why did you decide to transfer to Point Park?
Point Park University's Downtown Pittsburgh campus seemed like a perfect fit for me because of the small class sizes. At my previous school, I seemed to get lost in the crowd (or maybe that was just a figment of my imagination?). All of my professors at Point Park have great teaching styles and provide students with individual attention.
Tell us about your experiences at Point Park.
As a funeral services major, my concentration is in environmental health. I recently interned for the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, where I gained hands-on experience performing autopsies.
Plus, I'm minoring in forensic science and acting and those classes are spooktacular. The acting classes are really helping me overcome stage fright.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus?
I love the Crime Scene House!
Besides Point Park, what is your favorite spot in Pittsburgh?
Station Scare!
How has Point Park helped to shape who you are today?
I wouldn't be the ghost, I mean student, I am today without Point Park. I feel it really prepared me to take on the funeral services profession as soon as I graduate!
What advice do you have for incoming students?
If I had to give one piece of advice, I'd say don't be invisible. Talk to your professors, join clubs and meet as many people as possible from the second you step onto campus.
Do you have a favorite quote?
"Believe nothing you hear and only one half that you see." - Edgar Allan Poe
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I'm going to earn this degree even if it kills me. Happy Halloween to my classmates and friends at Point Park University!
