How did you land your internship with Mylan Laboratories?

I found out about an internship at Mylan by searching on the Career Development Center's web pages for various types of employment and internship opportunities. The internship at Mylan was interesting to me because it was related to the current field I am pursuing for graduate school. I applied to the internship and was fortunate to do well on my interview and be offered the position. So far, it has been great learning about the global security process within the private sector and I've enjoyed working with the security team.

What factors made you choose Point Park for graduate school?

I chose graduate school at Point Park for several reasons. The global security and intelligence program is different from the usual criminal justice or criminology graduate programs. Point Park is one of the only universities that has a graduate major in intelligence and global security. Also, the idea of a one-year graduate program was very appealing to me and of course the location of Point Park's campus in Downtown Pittsburgh was a great benefit as well.

Describe the professors in your M.A. program.

The professors are a great group of people who are genuinely concerned about the students' education and making sure we have the best experience possible. They encourage us to apply what we learn to real-world events and to be open to different ideas and mindsets.

What are your career goals and how will Point Park help you reach them?

My career goals are to work as an analyst or special agent within the federal government or private sector. My current graduate experience and internship with Mylan have really helped me to gain real-world experience, knowledge and to confirm that I am very passionate about my career field. I know my current professors and my education at Point Park will help to push me to achieve the goals that I set for myself and encourage me to not be afraid to step outside of my comfort zone.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time as a graduate student at Point Park and commend the University on hiring personnel who enjoy teaching and helping students achieve their education and career goals.
