Why did you choose to attend Point Park?
It wasn't a well reasoned assessment that led me to enroll at Point Park. Dumb luck, I guess. I wanted to stay in the Pittsburgh area and study journalism.
How did Point Park help you prepare for your career?
It was a very nurturing environment. There was not too much pressure but plenty of opportunities to grow as a person and as a student. (I needed the time and the relaxed environment because I matured very slowly!) This growth and success gave me the confidence and the skills necessary to take on bigger challenges down the line.
What was the most beneficial experience at Point Park?
The small classes and personal attention from professors were important to me. I first began to see myself as someone that could succeed professionally because of the encouragement of some of my professors. I also learned a great deal from many friends that attended Point Park.
What is your favorite memory at Point Park?
It's hard to narrow it down to a single memory. I met so many interesting and wonderful people and had so many good times - some of these people are my best friends to this day and there were many others with whom I wish I still maintained relationships. Playing guitar in bands with some friends at the school would probably have to rank as number one.
What advice do you have for today's students?
Take advantage of the unique opportunities that Point Park provides - smaller classes, the opportunity to interact with your professors and make great friends, and the access to everything that Downtown Pittsburgh has to offer.
