Professional Career-Readiness Center to Host Literary Arts and Social Justice Virtual Career Summit Friday, February 5, 2021
The Professional Career-Readiness Center will host a Literary Arts and Social Justice Virtual Career Summit on Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The professional development event will focus on how English, creative writing and social justice programs prepare students for competitive career opportunities. The event schedule is as follows:
- 3:30 p.m. – Conference welcome and keynote speaker
- Megan Fahey, assistant director of strategic programs, College of Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University
- 4:30 p.m. – Literary arts and social justice career panel
- Barbara Johnson, vice president, race and gender equity, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh
- Anne Madaresz, curatorial division director, chief historian and director, Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at Senator John Heinz History Center
- Chardae Jones, freelance writer and mayor of Braddock
- 6 p.m. – Closing comments: Leverage career center resources and experiential learning
- Dawnese Booker, program manager of experiential learning, Point Park University
