Part-time Faculty
Part-Time Faculty Benefits Summary
Point Park University is pleased to offer the following package to part-time faculty:
- Tuition Remission:
- Undergraduate programs: Part-time faculty members, their spouses and dependents are eligible for tuition remission for courses in accordance with the terms of this Section. The maximum number of credits for which undergraduate tuition remission is available in a given semester equals the total number of credits taught by the part-time faculty member in that semester. Tuition remission for undergraduate courses shall be 100% of the tuition.
- Masters programs: The faculty member is eligible to receive masters-level tuition remission for as many credits as they are currently teaching, to a maximum of 6 credits per semester. The faculty member's spouse and dependents are eligible for a 25% discount on masters-level courses in the semesters in which the faculty member is currently teaching.
- Doctoral programs: The faculty member is eligible to receive a 25% discount on doctoral-level courses in the semesters in which they are teaching at least 6 credits for the University. The faculty member's spouse and dependents are not eligible for doctoral tuition remission.
- Graduate and Doctoral remission is taxable according to IRS Guidelines. Fees are not covered by tuition remission. Tuition remission also does not include classes through Community Classes, experiential learning credits or study abroad programs.
- Note for full-time students who may be eligible for this benefit: The University's institutional financial aid awarding policy states that the student will retain the higher of the two awards: institutional merit and need based aid or part-time tuition remission benefit. Please contact the financial aid office for details of your financial aid awards.
- TIAA Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA): Eligible the 1st of the month following hire. Employee contribution only. Does not include matching funds by the University. Contributions withheld monthly on a pre-tax basis, up to IRS annual legal limits.
- PNC Bank-Workplace Banking: Contact your local PNC Bank Branch to set up your account and mention that you are an employee of the University. There is a PNC ATM on campus.
- University Fitness Center: Point Park University staff and faculty can use the Point Park Fitness Center at no charge. The fourth floor of the Student Center is home to our fitness center, which has a variety of equipment to meet your strength training and cardio workout needs.
