Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree Requirements
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS | ABOUT THE PROFESSION | TYPICAL B.S. SEQUENCE
Overview of the Program
All Point Park students study mathematics, human and social sciences, humanities and natural science as part of the University's core curriculum. Students in the electrical engineering program take numerous additional courses in mathematics, natural science and programming to prepare for their major course work in engineering.
Foundational electrical engineering courses are required in all modern curricular areas: circuits, analog and digital electronics, linear systems and electrical power. Building upon this foundation, students also complete a minimum of four advanced technical electives selected from the following areas:
- Electromagnetics
- Electrical power and power electronics
- Control systems
- Digital electronics and digital signal processing
- Communications
Senior students in the program apply knowledge gained throughout the curriculum in a two-course capstone design experience that centers on the proposal, construction and documentation of realistic engineering projects in a collaborative, team-based setting.
