Low-Residency M.F.A. Programs

Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts offers two low-residency Master of Fine Arts degree programs:

  1. M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts is one of the few programs of its kind in the country. This low-residency M.F.A. program is designed to help artists and creative thinkers develop their passions with consideration of entrepreneurial spirit.
  2. M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Playwriting is a rigorous low-residency program taught by nationally recognized, award-winning screenwriters and playwrights. Students will be immersed in the art of dramatic writing, which is like no other literary form. Like Pittsburgh's three rivers, the confluence of craft, hard work and imagination is the source of all successful storytelling in film, theater, television and the evolving multiplatform storytelling world.

All M.F.A. applicants selected to interview will be reviewed for a significant artistic award. The amount is based on our assessment of your creative potential and will be determined after the review of your admissions file, including the portfolio and the interview.
