School of Theatre, Film and Animation Free Creative Workshops for High School Students

High school students will gain hands-on experience at Point Park University's Free Creative Workshops with School of Theatre, Film and Animation faculty on Sunday, March 9, or Sunday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no cost to participate, however, registration is required. 

Students interested in acting, animation, design, directing, filmmaking, musical theatre, playwriting and stage-management are invited to attend. Each day features six different workshops, allowing students to choose their own path based on their interests.

  • Welcome and Introduction, Pittsburgh Playhouse lobby: 10-10:15 a.m.
  • Devising with Viewpoints with April Daras or Sound Foley Workshop with Andrew Halasz: 10:20-11 a.m.
  • Scenic Design Process with Steffi Mayer-Staley or Get Fast with Premiere with Kelly Donnellan: 11:10-11:50 a.m.
  • Acting a Song with Gary Kline or Three Point Lighting with Kyu Park: noon-12:40 p.m.
  • Q&A and Farewell, Pittsburgh Playhouse lobby: 12:45-1 p.m.
