SAEM Next! Session on Venues

 

The SAEM Next! session on venues held July 1, 2020 featured:

• Kelly Tucker-Jones, general manager, Live Nation Entertainment and S&T Bank Music Park
• Jay Roberts, general manager, Empower Field at Mile High
• Rob Thompson, director of stadium event operations, Heinz Field
• Scott Zimmerman, general manager, UPMC Events Center at Robert Morris University

It was a thought-provoking one-hour of discussion addressing the following questions related to venues in the sports, arts and entertainment management industries:

• What path did everyone take to get to your current positions?
• How did the Coronavirus impact your venue and your industry?
• What changes do you foresee that will be used when people return to attend events at your venues which include stadiums, arenas and concert amphitheaters?
• What advice do you have for our students and young alumni who want to enter into the sports, arts and entertainment industries?

The venues session was moderated by SAEM Professor Ed Traversari, MBA, and SAEM student Melissa Santucci.
