High School Seniors Earn Three Credits Toward a Point Park Bachelor's Degree
Through the Introduction to the Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management Business (SAEM 101) course, our sports, arts and entertainment management program offers high school seniors with the opportunity to earn three college credits toward an undergraduate degree at Point Park University or to be applied to the college of their choice.
There are two ways of earning these credits:
- Through high school faculty delivering our curriculum (concurrent enrollment) or
- By coming to the Point Park campus and taking this course in our classroom (dual enrollment) as it is delivered to our SAEM freshmen
The SAEM 101 course provides students with a broad overview of the business basics and career paths in sports, arts and entertainment management industries. This course is hands-on and engages students through in-class presentations, discussions, textbook and trade publication readings and field trips to venues such as Stage AE and the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
It also offers high school students with access to on-campus special events like our Emerging Trends in Sports Conference including crash courses on esports and mobile ticketing. Students will learn good personal branding (resume and LinkedIn profile building for example) and have their first professional exposure to SAEM by completing a 20-hour shadowing experience.
