Point Park University will host Brackets 101, a fundraising event related to the NCAA Basketball Tournament, on Monday, March 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the University's Myron Cope Scholarship for students in the School of Communication. Brackets 101, which is open to the public, will be emceed by Ellis Cannon, publisher of the Pittsburgh Sports Report. Ellis will be joined by Bob Pompeani, KDKA-TV, Tony DeFazio, Pittsburgh Sports Report, and Bob Rager, coach of the Point Park men's basketball team. Individual tickets are $50 each and reservations are required.

Celebrity guests include former Steelers Andy Russell, J. T. Thomas and Dwayne Woodruff from the '70s Super Bowl teams. A unique item of sports memorabilia - the City of Champions poster - will be auctioned featuring autographs from 20 athletes who played in Pittsburgh's Super Bowl, World Series and Stanley Cup games.

Helen Fallon, professor in the School of Communication and director of the university's Honors Program, noted, "We are extremely pleased to honor Myron Cope's extraordinary career in journalism with a scholarship in his name. We will be announcing the 2010 winner at Brackets 101."

Brackets 101 provides basketball fans with the opportunity to learn about conference rankings, late season records, hot trends, injuries and more as they prepare for the NCAA Tournament. The event includes a buffet lunch, bracket packet, sports panel discussion, and a number of items for both live and silent auction. All attendees will receive a copy of the Myron Cope Tribute DVD created by Point Park University School of Communication students. Brackets 101 will be held in Point Park University's Lawrence Hall Ballroom (located at Wood Street/Boulevard of the Allies).
