According to news media reports, a earthquake of 5.9 magnitude occurred in central Virginia just before 2 p.m. today, and tremors were felt in the Pittsburgh area. There are no reports of damage here.

As a precaution, Point Park University officials are checking all operating systems in campus buildings. The campus remains open and operating normally.
