The Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Pennsylvania's 45th governor, will give Point Park University's undergraduate Commencement address on Saturday, May 2, at 2 PM at Mellon Arena in Downtown Pittsburgh. In addition, Governor Rendell will receive the degree of Doctor of Public Service, Honoris Causa. The degree will be conferred during the Commencement ceremony.

"We are honored to have Governor Rendell participate in this year's Commencement exercises," said Paul Hennigan, president of Point Park University. "Governor Rendell's leadership in promoting economic and workforce development, supporting urban renewal efforts and advancing educational initiatives positions him as an inspirational speaker for our graduates and their families."

Point Park will also present Mark Roosevelt, superintendent of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree as part of its graduate Commencement and Hooding Ceremony at 9 a.m. in Mellon Arena. Mr. Roosevelt will address the graduate students who are being honored during that event.

Point Park University's Commencement will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 2, at Mellon Arena. The Point Park community will gather to recognize the academic achievements of its students and honor those who have contributed to their success.
