Dr. Dane S. Claussen, Professor & Graduate Program Director, School of Communication, was appointed June 5 to the Editorial Advisory Board of Asia Pacific Media Educator, a scholarly journal based in Australia.

Asia Pacific Media Educator is edited by Dr. Eric Loo, Senior Lecturer in the School of Journalism & Creative Writing, University of Wollongong. Founded in 1996, the journal also is published by the University of Wollongong.

According to Dr. Woo, "APME is cited in the Australian Public Affairs Information Service (APAIS); ERIC database; and The Iowa Guide: Scholarly Journals in Mass Communication and Related Fields. It is currently ranked in the top 30% of international journals in related disciplines by the Excellence for Research in Australia board of the Australian Research Council. APME focuses on generating discussions and dialogue between media educators and practitioners. Contents range from critical media commentaries to research articles on innovative media education, training and practice specific to the Asia Pacific region."

Dr. Claussen already serves on the Editorial Board of another Australia-based scholarly journal, Australian Journalism Review.

Dr. Claussen recently also was invited to begin regularly reviewing article manuscripts (two already) about media and religion for the Journal of Religion and Popular Culture, published by The University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Its editor is Dr. Mary Ann Beavis, Professor/Head, Department of Religion and Culture, St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan.

In addition to currently serving as Editor of Journalism & Mass Communication Educator, an international, quarterly, scholarly journal published by the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC) and on the Editorial Boards of Australian Journalism Review and Asia Pacific Media Educator, Dr. Claussen also is an editorial board member of: Newspaper Research Journal, Mass Communication & Society, Journalism History, Journal of Media & Religion, Journal of Magazine & New Media Research, Journal of Media Sociology, Communication Education, Journal of Men's Studies, and Journal of Men, Masculinities & Spirituality; and he serves as a manuscripts reviewer/referee for Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journal of Media Economics, American Journalism, Men & Masculinities, and Review of Religious Research. He is a former editorial board member of: Journalism & Mass Communication Educator (which he now edits) and Journalism & Communication Monographs.
