Heather Starr Fielder, assistant professor of digital media, has won two awards from International Academy of the Visual Arts 15th Annual Communicator Awards for her web site PittsburghMom.com, which is part of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's online site.

PittsburghMom.com won an Award of Excellence in the Online Advertising & Marketing category and an Award of Distinction in the Family/Parenting web site category.

The Award of Excellence, the program's highest honor, is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field. The Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for Communications Professionals. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, The Communicator Awards received more than 7,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.
