Smooth Transition Program Available for Students Transferring to Point Park in 2023

Point Park University has launched the Smooth Transition program to help students in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education who may be impacted by mergers, restructuring and the elimination of majors and programs.

“The talk of mergers of state system schools and the elimination and restructuring of majors and programs add to the uncertainty of what has been the most stressful year in history for students,” said Trudy Williams, Point Park University vice president of enrollment. “The Smooth Transition program includes generous transfer scholarship packages to keep students’ dreams affordable, combined with personalized counselor and academic success coaches to help students stay on track to graduate in four years.”

“Point Park is a transfer-friendly institution,” Williams added. “Many of Point Park’s top programs, like some of our innovative programs in the School of Communication, are in areas that have been de-emphasized or could be in danger of being altered in the coming months at other universities.”

Students could qualify for up to $19,000 per year in Point Park transfer scholarships – including a $3,000 per academic year scholarship as a transfer from a Pennsylvania state school. The Smooth Transition program also includes a timely review of transfer credits and equivalencies; a transfer counselor to guide students through the process, and an academic success coach to help transfer students stay on track to graduate in four years.
