"The workload may be heavy sometimes, but it all pays off in the end. Find what you love and follow the journey. Chances are, it will lead you somewhere unexpected."

Mary Moses

Why did you choose Point Park University?

While I was looking at schools, I had a friend who was going to Point Park for screenwriting. I came to campus for a visit and I fell in love with the city and the Pittsburgh pride.

How is Point Park preparing you for your future career?

Point Park is preparing me to thrive as a writer and in the publishing world. I'll be able to work for a publishing company and help other authors push their work to the public, or I could become an author in the art of short stories or novels.

Where can we find you hanging out on campus?

I can be found reading and writing in Village Park.

How is Pittsburgh different from your hometown?

Jamestown is very different from Pittsburgh. It is a country town with farms, fields and livestock. It has is a small population and it's the type of town where everyone knows everyone. We only have one stoplight to direct the entire town!

What is your favorite meal in the city?

My favorite meal is a steak with garlic mashed potatoes from the Hard Rock Cafe.

What's the best part about spring in Pittsburgh?

I love when I can walk down to Point State Park without the blistering winds chilling me. I like to read and write outside. I hate being cooped up in my room, so when the weather warms up I get outside as much as possible to enjoy the outdoors.

What advice would you give to incoming students?

Absolutely do not get discouraged! The workload may be heavy sometimes, but it all pays off in the end. Find what you love and follow the journey. Chances are, it will lead you somewhere unexpected.
