What inspired you to double major in electrical and mechanical engineering technology?

A professor suggested I attain a minor in electrical engineering technology. When I further investigated this, I decided to go for the major in electrical engineering technology in addition to my major in mechanical engineering technology.

Why did you choose to attend Point Park?

I chose Point Park because the class sizes were small compared to other large universities. The small class sizes allow for a more personalized experience with the professors and make learning easier.

How did you land your internship with Lechtzer?

My best friend landed his internship with Lechtzer in the summer after a Point Park alumnus referred him to the company. My friend then referred me to Lechtzer and now we intern there together.

What are your key internship responsibilities?

Each day presents new tasks as an intern. I solder electrical components onto a circuit board. I help with the formatting and writing of technical reports. I draw and analyze circuits on the computer. I also do some internet research on various topics in the interest of the company.

Describe the engineering technology faculty at Point Park.

The engineering technology faculty members at Point Park are very knowledgeable and helpful. All of the professors teach the material very clearly and do a great job of preparing students with the knowledge needed to succeed after school.

How do you think this internship will help you with your career goals?

This internship will show me what skills it takes in the real world regarding engineering technology and how to take what I learn in school and apply it to solve problems and achieve goals.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Point Park University has been a great experience for me. The professors are very helpful and I feel confident I will be successful after I graduate from Point Park.
