Point Park University presents a screening of the film Dirt for students and the public on Tues., Oct. 18, 2011 as part of the Global Cultural Studies Human and Environmental Health Film Series.

Assistant Professor of Global Cultural Studies J. Dwight Hines, Ph.D., says the movie is about dirt - and so much more. "The film is a call to action and asks us to consider and change our notions about how humans are linked to the earth."

The free screening will begin at 6 p.m. in JVH Auditorium located in Thayer Hall. Read more about the movie and watch a trailer at the film's website: www.dirtthemovie.org.

The next screening of the Global Cultural Studies Human and Environmental Health Film Series will be Fresh, a film that celebrates the farmers and other individuals who are reinventing America's food system and forging new solutions to the problems of food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources and obesity in the United States. Point Park will present Fresh on Tues., Nov. 15 at the same location and time as the Oct. screening.
