Registration is required for this event.

Online registration for this event is scheduled to be open until Friday, September 30, 2022.
Registration is subject to early closure if the event sells out.

The schedule of events is subject to change.

Important Note: Please be aware that all University classes, activities, athletics, on-campus jobs, etc., continue as normally scheduled during Family Weekend. Before registering, consult with your student with regard to their availability during Family Weekend as they may have obligations which require their attendance.

Check-In / Information Table
4-8 p.m. | Lawrence Hall | Lobby

Check-in and pick up your welcome packet which includes your itinerary, any tickets you may need, and important information for the weekend. You can also check to see if we have tickets available for which you didn’t previously register.  If you missed online registration, walk-in registrations are accepted during check-in, subject to ticket availability.

President's Reception

In celebration of Family Weekend, please join President Don Green as we welcome families to campus. Refreshments will be served. 

An Evening of Rising Stars: Musical Theatre Performances

A showcase of performances by students in the Theatre Department.

Night at the Movies: Screening of Student Films
7-8 p.m. | University Center | GRW Theater
You're invited to a cinematic experience on the big screen.  View some of the exciting films our cinema students are producing.  This collection of short films promises to have something for everyone from comedy to drama and represents work developed in an array of cinema courses from freshman production classes to digital tools to senior thesis projects.  These films would generally be rated at the PG-13 level, as some may contain strong language and/or violence.

The Conservatory Dance Company presents their Fall Dance Concert featuring works by Maud Arnold, LaTasha Barnes, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and Robyn Mineko Williams.  Families wishing to attend this event need to purchase tickets via the link above, as they are not included in the Family Weekend registration.

Volleyball vs. St. Mary-of-the-Woods College
7 p.m. | Student Center | 5th Floor Gymnasium
Cheer on the Pioneers! Point Park volleyball plays a River States Conference matchup in the Student Center gym. 

CAB Coffee House
7:30-9:30 p.m. | Lawrence Hall | Lobby 
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is hosting a Paint & Sip Coffeehouse with warm drinks and pumpkin painting for students and families.

Cross Country at The CMU Invitational
10 a.m. Women's | 11 a.m. Men's
Schenley Oval Sportsplex | 1 Overlook Drive | Pittsburgh, PA 15217
The Carnegie Mellon University Invitational is held in Schenley Park in Oakland. Watch the Pioneers compete in the women's 6K at 10 a.m. and the men's 8K at 11 a.m.  The start and finish of the course is at the Schenley Oval. Shuttle service is not provided for this event; see Resources page for transportation options.

Volleyball vs. Indiana University Kokomo
Noon | Student Center | 5th Floor Gymnasium
The Pioneers take on one of their biggest rivals, the Indiana University Kokomo Cougars. Cheer on the Point Park volleyball team as it faces the perennial power in the conference. This match promises to be one of the biggest ones of the season.

Soccer vs. Indiana University East
6 p.m. Women’s | 8 p.m. Men’s 
Highmark Stadium | 510 Station Square Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15219 | Shuttle service provided
Point Park faces rival Indiana East under the lights at Highmark Stadium. The Pioneers and Red Wolves square off in a doubleheader with the women at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. Admission is free, so head over to the stadium for a spectacular view of the city and enjoy some Pioneers soccer.

Shuttle Service to/from Soccer Matches
Looping service is provided for the soccer matches between the Student Center parking lot (330 Boulevard of the Allies) and Highmark Stadium. 

  • For 30 minutes prior to the women’s match
  • Between women’s and men’s matches
  • For 30 minutes after the men’s match

Java & Jazz in the Park
7-9 p.m. | Village Park (Lawrence Hall Lobby in the event of inclement weather)
Warm up with coffee, hot cocoa, and dessert, and wind down from the day's activities while listening to some great Pittsburgh jazz.

Point Park After Dark will be a Table or Treat event for students and families hosted by the the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

Point Park Family Brunch
10 a.m.-1 p.m. | Lawrence Hall | 3rd Floor Dining Room

Enjoy a casual brunch with your family as the weekend’s festivities wind down.
