Trib Total Media Scholarship Programs for Communication and Business Students

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 Recipients will receive up to $30,000 in scholarship funds awarded in annual installments of up to $7,500. The students will be required to remain in the approved course of study through graduation, complete summer internships with Trib Total Media each year of the program and, upon graduation, they will receive an offer for full-time employment.

The selected journalist will have six months to produce and publish or broadcast the final story or series of stories. In addition, the honoree will be required to come to Point Park University’s Downtown Pittsburgh campus three times, which includes an event to celebrate their work.

High School Students Visit Point Park for Interactive Multimedia Storytelling Workshop

Tuesday, August 1, 2017 "The students learned about writing, interviewing, photography, video, multimedia and social media," said Robin Cecala, Ph.D., assistant professor of broadcast production. "Using their new skills, they documented their workshop experiences on their own website."

Fourteen high school students explored Downtown Pittsburgh and gained hands-on experience in their career-to-be at Point Park University's Interactive Multimedia Storytelling workshop held July 17-20 in the Center for Media Innovation.

Point Park University announces new Center for Media Innovation

Wednesday, October 21, 2015 School of Communication students will gain hands-on experience in their major in the University's new Center for Media Innovation, set to open in 2016. Located at Wood Street and Third Avenue, the 4,000-square-foot center will have floor-to-ceiling glass walls, flat-screen televisions and a digital ticker that offers a New York City-style media hub where passersby can be entertained and informed as students learn their craft.
