PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University senior midfielder/forward Emily Levier was named the KIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 7-13, 2013 after getting the game-winning goal in double overtime of a big win at Cincinnati Christian Oct. 12, the conference announced Monday (Oct. 14).
Levier, from Gibsonia, Pa., and Pine-Richland High School, scored just the one goal on the week, but it was a big one to improve Point Park to a perfect 3-0 in the KIAC. The goal came on a header off a corner kick.
Levier's game-winner at CCU came in the 106th minute and lifted the Pioneers (5-9 overall) to a 2-1 victory in double overtime. Levier has come up big in conference games with four points in the three KIAC contest thus far. She had two assists in a victory over Berea (Ky.) earlier in the year.
Levier has played in all 14 games and has started 10 times. She has two goals, three assists and seven points on the year while splitting her time between forward and midfield.
Levier will be one of seven seniors honored in the Pioneers' next game Oct. 19 for Senior Day versus Brescia (Ky.). Game time is 11 a.m. at Highmark Stadium for a KIAC contest.
