Point Park women tie program record with 5 NAIA Scholar-Athletes

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University women's basketball tied a program record this year with five players named Daktronics-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Scholar-Athletes. Point Park (29-5) tied the team record first set last year and was just two shy of NAIA Division II national leader Southwestern (Kan.) with seven.

A total of 244 NAIA Division II women's basketball players across the country were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes this year, which is given to juniors and seniors with a career GPA of 3.5 or higher. The scholar-athletes were announced last week at the national tournament.

Making the grade for Point Park this year were seniors Anna-Maria Boshkova (3.86 GPA, Global Studies), Ashley Campbell (3.57, Accounting), Katresa Savisky (3.97, Psychology) and Anna Shaw (3.73, Intelligence & National Security) and junior Ja'Nia McPhatter (3.57, Pre-Med).
