Three Point Park players named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA DII Scholar-Athletes

Kristen Veseleny is one of three 2012 NAIA DII Scholar-Athletes for Point Park
PITTSBURGH – Three Point Park University women’s basketball players were named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Division II Scholar-Athletes as announced by the NAIA office on Monday (March 12).
Senior Kristen Veseleny and juniors Brittany Dunmire and Anna-Maria Boshkova were among the 162 NAIA Division II women’s basketball players nationwide to make the grade as juniors and seniors with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. The NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor is the highest academic honor given out by the NAIA, and student-athletes are nominated by their schools.
Veseleny is a senior guard/forward from Pleasant Hills, Pa., who carries a 3.62 GPA as a multimedia major. It is the second year in a row that the Thomas Jefferson grad is an NAIA Scholar-Athlete. A three-year starter, Veseleny averaged 4.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg as a senior. For her career, she totaled 440 points and 334 rebounds in 102 games. Veseleny was a Capital One ® Academic All-District First Team selection in the College Division as selected by CoSIDA this year.
Dunmire is a junior guard from West Homestead, Pa., and Steel Valley High School. She has a 3.89 GPA in Secondary Education. Dunmire played in 15 games off the bench this year and averaged 2.2 ppg.
Boshkova is a junior forward from Sofia, Bulgaria, who owns a 3.90 GPA in business management. The 6-1 Boshkova played in 25 games off the bench this season with averages of 2.9 ppg and 2.6 rpg. She transferred from Fairmont State after her freshman season.
The Point Park team was 23-7 this year, won the American Mideast Conference Tournament and advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship for the first time.
