Profile: Sandin is a talented perimeter shooter who played is 24 games, mainly off the bench, during her freshman season. As a sophomore in 2011-12, she will be looked to once again for perimeter scoring but also to develop other parts of her game such as driving and rebounding.
2010-11: Sandin played in 24 games with two coming as a starter. She averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game. She was third on the team with 27 3-pointers made and she had the third-most 3-point attempts with 79. She shot 35 percent overall and 34 percent from long range. Sanding had six games with three or more treys. Sandin registered double figures five times with a career-high16 points coming at PSU-Fayette. She was 5 of 8 from 3-point range for 15 points vs. PSU-Fayette. She registered four treys each at PSU-Fayette, vs. Pitt-Greensburg and vs. Carlow.
High School: Sandin was a standout player at Yough High School, and she brings a lot of potential to the Point Park program. Sandin averaged 18.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in being named a WPIAL all-section player as a senior. She was a two-year starter and a team captain. As a junior, she averaged 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Sandin’s versatility allows her to play the No. 3 or 4 position with scoring ability in the post and on the perimeter.
