Profile: Peterkin is in her second season at Point Park after transferring from nearby Carlow University. In this her third year of college basketball, she has the potential to take her game to the next level. The tallest player on the Point Park team at 6-2, Peterkin is a strong presence on defense and rebounding. Her 52 blocked shots last year are the second-most by a Point Park player in a single season. On the boards, she averaged 4.5 rebounds per game. Offensively, she is shooting 42 percent from the field and averaging 6.7 ppg for her career. With an improved offensive game this year, Peterkin will be a major factor on both ends of the floor for the Pioneers.
2009-10: Peterkin played in all 27 games and made 12 starts as a sophomore in 2009-10. She averaged 5.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 16.5 minutes per game. She reached double figures in scoring four times including a career-high 15 points and six blocks on 7 of 10 shooting at Northwestern Ohio. Another big game was 13 points and nine rebounds on 5 of 9 shooting at Notre Dame (OH). Her season high of 11 rebounds came vs. Roberts Wesleyan. Defensively, she had nine games in which she recorded three or more blocks.
2008-09 (at Carlow): Peterkin averaged 9.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in her freshman season at Carlow. She played 11 games for the Celtics before missing the second semester. Her final game was Dec. 13, and at that time she was among the AMC leaders in rebounds and blocks. Peterkin recorded three double-doubles in 11 games. She had a career-high 20 points along with 14 rebounds vs. Penn State-Beaver. Peterkin had a career-high 17 rebounds to go with 14 point and six blocks vs. Ursuline. In a loss to Point Park, she had eight points, 14 rebounds and three blocks (Nov. 18).
High school: Peterkin was a two-time WPIAL all-section first teamer at West Mifflin. She was named to the Daily News Fabulous 15 team in 2007-08 when she led the Titans to the WPIAL Class-AAA title game. She averged 10.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.6 blocks per game that year.
