Point Park ties for fourth at Ted Barclay Invitational hosted by Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Point Park University men's golf team could not make a move in the final round on Sunday and ended up tying for fourth place of 10 teams at the Ted Barclay Spring Invitational hosted by Denison University at Granville Golf Course.
Point Park was in third place after putting up a team score of 310 in the first round on Saturday. The Pioneers slid into a tie for fourth with a 311 on Sunday.
Point Park tied with Columbus State CC with a two-day total of 621. Ohio Wesleyan was the team champion at 612 followed by Denison (615) and Baldwin Wallace (618).
Point Park's Austin Elder placed eighth individually with a tournament scorecard of 75-78--153 (+11). That effort was seven shots behind medalist Stephen Spalding of Baldwin Wallce at 146 (+4). Elder, a junior from Warren, Ohio, placed in the top 10 for the fifth time in six events this year.
Collin Holmes (76-80) and Billy Wivell (80-76) tied for 15th at 156 (+14). James Daley (82-77) tied for 23rd at 159, and Alejandro Benardini (79-82) tied for 27th. There were a total of 62 players in the field.
Point Park's next competition is the American Mideast Conference Tournament, which will be contested April 14-15 at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, N.Y. The event will featured 54 holes across two days.
