Profile: Trocchio is the top returning, perimeter-shooting threat for Point Park. The senior from North Hills, Pa., made a team-high 58 3-pointers last year and and shot 43% from long range. He is in his third year with the Pioneers after starting his career at La Roche College. Trocchio averaged a career-high 9.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a junior, which are both second among returning players. His ability to provide scoring from the perimeter will be a key for the Pioneers once again. A streaky player, he averaged 18.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in an impressive, six-game stretch in December of last season.
2009-10 (Junior): Trocchio played in 25 games and made 12 starts. He started 11 of the first 12 games, and as of the semester break, he was leading Point Park with 14.5 points per game over the first 10 contests. His best game included 26 points, eight rebounds and 8 of 16 shooting from 3-point range vs. Ohio Valley. Another big game was 21 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the outside vs. Wilberforce. His top rebounding game was a 17-point, 12-rebound effort vs. Trevecca Nazarene, a game in which he hit 5 of 11 treys. Trocchio reached double figures in scoring 10 times on the year.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Trocchio averaged 5.8 points and 13.8 minutes per game while seeing action in all 28 games. He scored in double figures six times and scored 15 points in the season finale vs. Mt. Vernon Nazarene. He had one double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds vs. Penn State-Fayette.
2007-08 (Freshman at La Roche): Played in four games as a redshirt freshman at La Roche. 2006-07: was redshirted after injuring his knee early in the season.
High school: A 2006 graduate of North Hills, he was a three-time letterman for the Indians…helped his team to the WPIAL semifinals as a junior.
Personal: Born April 28, 1988…is the son of John and Barb Trocchio…majoring in early childhood education.
