Background
Aram Parsa, Ph.D., P.Eng., is an associate professor of mechanical engineering and coordinator of the mechanical engineering program at Point Park University. Prior to joining Point Park, Parsa was a mechanical engineer for WorleyParsons in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Before that, he worked as a mechanical engineer for HATCH Ltd., in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. During his four years of Ph.D. studies, he worked for the IVIDIL project in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency to study thermal diffusion and the effect of vibration in fluids at the zero gravity environment of the International Space Station.
Before moving to Canada, Parsa worked in Tehran, Iran, as a mechanical engineer for Namvaran Consulting Engineering Company and as an engineer for Madankav Consulting Engineering Company. Parsa has extensive engineering expertise in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, machine design, stress analysis and finite element analysis. He is also experienced in large industrial projects involving oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear power plants and minerals.
