Background

Stanley Denton, Ph.D., professor of education at Point Park University, has been a practitioner in the fields of multicultural education, human relations and social psychology since 1975. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate education courses at Point Park, he also coordinates the College Now program, a dual enrollment collaborative program at Point Park which enables qualifying students to earn up to 30 credits at a significantly reduced tuition rate during their junior or senior years of high school. In his former position as program officer for multicultural education in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Denton created a national award-winning model program for incorporating diversity across the curriculum.

Denton is a frequent seminar leader and speaker on diversity, educational issues and conflict resolution for community groups, national conferences not-for-profit organizations and business groups throughout the United States and in Africa. He is active in numerous civic and community affairs, serving on the Duquesne, Pa. School District Board of Control, and is involved in mentoring middle school youth through the Mt.
